Bama Bayou, Gulf World.. Go or No Go???????

Are they still building on the waterpark and the Marine park or have they run out of money.. The last update on the Bamabayou web site was March 2009.

Bama Bayou, Gulf World.. Go or No Go???????

Hasn%26#39;t been any yellow equipment moving any dirt there in a few months. My guess is it will sit there as a monument to ill-advised investments for a while.

Didn%26#39;t they move a shrimp boat there?

';Didn%26#39;t they move a shrimp boat there?';

If you%26#39;re talking about that landlocked boat, it%26#39;s been there for a couple of years. Nothing is happening at all there right now. The proposed waterpark on the other side of the beach express has been cancelled and that property is for sale again. Bama Bayou has the potential to be an eyesore for years to come.

On the causeway there is a circle of cement structures at the Pineda Subdivision on the east end, that have been there over the 36 years that I have lived here. Remains of a failed housing project!!

I refer to Pineda as ';Stonehenge';...

Hey this is great, our own Stonehenge! Who knew...Was it built by Druids and does it have strange mystical qualities? We%26#39;re sitting on a gold mine! Just kidding. These projects and many others, even Gulf Front developments are languishing and I don%26#39;t see anything changing for quite some time. (I%26#39;m not totally disappointed)

Irie--';strange mystical qualities';--When we visited the real Stonehenge I did have a very moving experience that was almost overwhelming. Oddly there was artillary fire that could be heard from a nearby military base that added to the experience somehow. dave

Last time I visited it was all touristy, little Stonehenge hats etc... still really cool but they have kind of ';cheesed'; it up.
