Any suggestions on a nice day trip from Gulf Shores. We already have planned to go to the Air museum in Pensacola. Just looking for some other choices. Thanks............

The USS Alabama on Mobile Bay Causeway is a nice museum. Don%26#39;t know if you have kids, but there is an Exploreum in Mobile that usually has some cool exhibits. Fairhope is a nice day trip for shopping at some yuppie shops (Sorry, Dave).

Yuppie mmmmmmmm Not only are we yuppie we are scenic-see the pier, we are delicious -see all our restaurants, we are pretty -see the flowers, we are entertaining-see antique shops and galleries. The Grand Hotel is a posh place for lunch if you want that.

Don%26#39;t know if you have kids or ages...
But you can drive out to Fort Morgan, and take a tour, then, take the ferry across the bay to Dauphin Island. If you take your car, you can drive around DI, if you want.
If not, save about $16 and just take your bikes.
At the Ferry dock in Dauphin Island, is Fort Gaines- very interesting. Also the Dauphin Island SeaLab Estuarium-very cool. DI is great for bike riding.
I think without the car, the Ferry is about $4 or $5.
It runs several times a day, with the last about 6:30.
