Renting a house

Not familiar with Gulf Shores at all. Where would be a good place to rent (10 person house)? I%26#39;m looking for next summer.

Thanks for the help!

Renting a house

There are several places to get a rental,

My favorite is to use an owner rental site,

www.vrbo.com

you save a bit of money over the rental companys,

and there are no offices to check into..

But a couple of rental companys are

www.MeyerRE.com/Rentals

and...

www.kaiserrealty.com

www.brett-robinson.com

meyer is cheaper than kaiser,

I have used vrbo all over the country , I have always been happy.......

Renting a house

My friends and i go every memorial day and rent a house for the weekend. we usually have 10 -12 people. i always find the rentals on vrbo.com. During the summer months most HOUSES only rent from sat-sat which is annoying. We stayed in fort morgan for the past two years and they usually have a community pool and its nice because its far from all the condo complexes and crowds, BUT that means its far from everything else. It took us almost 30 minutes to get anywhere....the grocery, dinner, stores, etc. This year we are staying at mustique. It is a high rise condo that sleeps 12 and only has 2 condos per floor. Since it is a condo we can go from Thurs-Monday. It is also just as big as a house with 4 br/5baths. It is a lot closer to town than fort morgan but far enough from the big crowds. It depends what you are looking for, a good tip is always check out the address on google or yahoo maps. Make sure it is on the gulf beach and not the bay beach. Use the satelite maps, they are a big help.

We always stay with Sunset Properties out in Ft. Morgan. They are on the beach side of the HWY and it%26#39;s really quiet and secluded down there, which we like. Their prices are really reasonable. Don%26#39;t have their number in front of me, but their website is sunsetproperties.com

I have not been to Gulf Shores yet, but I have booked a house through Fort Morgan Realty that we will be staying at this August that sleeps 10. It is on the beach in Fort Morgan. Their website is www.ftmorganrealty.com. Meyer Realty has a lot of properties but I had a problem with them in that I put a $750 deposit down last October and then they raised the rate 30% after the first of the year. They refused to honor the price they quoted me. Anyway, I%26#39;d be happy to give you feedback on my experience with Fort Morgan Realty after my August trip if you%26#39;d like.

I would appreciate your feedback once you go. Have fun!

I will be staying in a house called castaway II, Laboer day week this year it sleeps 14. after the third week in aug the rate is only 700 dollars a week. normally 1400 before than. will let you know how we like it. it is in ft. morgan. we don%26#39;t mind the drive we like the uncrowed beaches. also if you like fishing he will take you out half price if you rent from them. website is castawayhouse.com. don%26#39;t be confused with the one on vrbo, com that one is only a 2 bedroom this one is a 4 bedroom. located at 421 benard ct east the other is on benard ct. west.

VRBO.com is a good place to look for house rentals in that area. Also, if you%26#39;ll just ';google'; something like ';gulf shores vacation rentals'; you%26#39;ll link up with plenty of the local realty companies that rent both houses and condos.

Someone earlier mentioned Ft. Morgan Realty and they do have a lot of properties out on Ft. Morgan. I used them last year to rent a house that slept up to 12 (I think) and I know they had larger properties as well. Some of the other rental agencies in that area are Meyers, Brett Robinson, Reed, Picard...just to name a few.

We%26#39;re renting directly from an owner this year--we stayed next door to his house last summer on Ft. Morgan and just wrote his number down off of his sign. I think Ft. Morgan tends to have lots of large houses, so would bet you can find something you%26#39;ll like.
