The Boll Weevil Monument is a must see, of course! What most people do not know is that the sculpture is a lady in typical statuesque form who much like Lady Liberty is holding......you guessed it.....a Boll Weevil bug! It%26#39;s a funny looking cridder that put us on the map but ya gotta love it! This monument has been stolen, vandalized, misplaced, rebuilt, you name it. The history of pranks goes way back. However, officials finally put a stop to such behavior. So far, so good!
So, when you wander in to our downtown Main Street in the heart of Enterprise, look for the statue in a fountain located smack dab in the middle of a Federal highway. Oh, and don%26#39;t forget to look up. Or else, you may not notice the bug.

It was put up in 1919 when the bollweevil destroyed the cotten crops and peanuts took its place.And yes there has been many pranks such as throwing laundry soap into the fountain..ahem..course I would not know of such things..
