Vacation report at Gulf Shore State Park

We arrived at State Park on 16th. Really liked the cabin, very clean and comfortable. Grounds are very well maintained also. Cabin was 2 small bedrooms, bath (shower only), living area, kitchen and dining area all together. We spent most of our time on screened in porch. There was always a nice breeze. Nice fishing peirs in front of cabins on Lake Shelby. Didn%26#39;t catch anything, after spending $52.00 for license. There are alligators in lake, but they seem very shy. The one thing we missed was internet connection. we were told we could get a connection at rv campground, but we tried with no luck. A couple of campers said it had been down for guite some time. The beach is just a couple of minutes away. We left on 22nd and we plan on coming back. If you are looking for a clean, quite and peaceful spot this is it.

Glad to hear that you had a nice time. Good info about the cabins too. We don%26#39;t have many postings regarding the State Park, thanks.

PS, sorry about the fishing :-(

Thanks so much for posting. We have been hoping someone would stay at one of the cabins and post. Did you have satellite TV? I see some dishes on the roofs...

The cabins do have Direct TV. The 2 things we noticed most about the cabins were: It was so quite. The only noise was the airplanes. The second thing was the wonderfully cool breeze off the lake. Yes, it was humid, but very comfortable on porch.

We would highly recommend the cabins. Hope to come back. Wanda95
