We were scheduled to be in Gulf Shores the middle of Oct..but I have injured my back and must reschedule. As it is 1500 miles one way ride down there.
Both of us will be 65 and want to sight-see, golf %26amp; eat in different places in the area.
We are thinking again of the middle of Oct. next year or the end of April.
The weather is about the same. Any locals have an opinion on which time would be better?? Would like your thoughts on it.
Thank you
Opinion on trip planningYou%26#39;re correct that the weather is similar during those periods. There are probably more people here in late April because of spring break in the South. We%26#39;re not a big college spring break destination, but a lot of families come during that period.
In late October you%26#39;ll find an older crowd because school is in session and the snowbirds (from your neck of the woods) are starting to show up. YOucan%26#39;t go wrong either way.
Opinion on trip planningCome in the spring. Not because it is any better than Oct but because the winter will be so much easier if you knew you were coming in the spring!!
Although Fels point is well taken about anticipating the spring trip all through the winter (I%26#39;ve lived through some Minnesota winters), I would rather go in October. Spring break can sometimes last for 6 weeks beginning mid-March and all through April and it can get kind of hectic. Golfing is much better in the fall and there are fewer lines (if any) at the restaurants. I think both times are great times of the year here but for what you%26#39;re looking for I might consider October. Whichever you decide, I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a wonderful time. Sorry to hear about your back. Get well soon!
