Gulf Shore State Park Cabins

Hi, We are planning a trip middle of August and rented a cabin at State park. Has anyone stayed there, and are they nice? This is our first time to GS and we are really looking forward to it.

The cabins are nice if you%26#39;re looking for a quiet vacation. Five minute drive to the beach. Easy drive to restaurants and shopping. Do a search on this forum for ';state park cabins'; and you%26#39;ll see some good info.

thanks for answering dd992, we are really looking forward to our trip there. a quite vacation is what we are after. we love to fish, so we are planning on that. do you know a good bait shop that is close?

thanks for your help,

wanda

Oops, I don%26#39;t fish. There is a Frith%26#39;s bait shop on East 2nd St in GS and a J%26amp;M Tackle on Canal Rd in OB. I see a lot of people fishing on the Intracoastal Waterway. You might check that out.

I have not been inside one but have driven my family by it numerous times as I want to have a family reunion there. From the outside they look very nice (I believe most of them were rebuilt after Ivan) with satellite TV, grill, and screened in porch. Many have their own fishing pier as well. There%26#39;s also a kid%26#39;s play area in the middle of the cabins.

Just a mile or so from the golf course which is OK for the price (greens painfully slow) and you%26#39;re a few miles from Wal-Mart

Please post a review after your visit so we may get a better idea of them from the inside.
