Trip Report Aug 7-10

We arrived in Gulf Shores in the late afternoon and checked into the Gulf Shores Surf %26amp; Racquet Club in a 2bd/bth Condo....It was perfect..We had a view of the bay, pier and pool area. We went to the beach after we settled in.

Friday Morning, we woke up and went to the beach. The water and weather was great. Ee left the beach and ate at Sea-n-Suds for lunch. We always enjoy this place. It wasn%26#39;t crowded and we were seated right away. Food was good. View was great. We went to The Track and rode go-carts and went to the outlet mall for shopping. We couldn%26#39;t decide on what to eat for dinner as everyone (2adt,3 kids ages 9, 11 %26amp; 11) wanted something different. We ended up at Ryan%26#39;s. (buffet) It was still early, no dinner crowd. Food was average. (it%26#39;s a buffet!) The kids loved the choices on what to eat. We went back to the beach and stayed until after the sun set. We got back to our room and settled in for the night.

Saturday morning, we went to the beach and ate lunch at the Original Oyster House. It was the best meal we had on our trip. The food was excellent and we had the lunch prices and we walked right in - no waiting. We went to Waterville area and rode the roller coasters and go carts. FYI - the go cart wait was almost an hour. We got in line and it wasn%26#39;t that long, but they were only running 12 carts at a time. The tickets were nonrefundable. The go carts ran for 5 minutes and it would take another 5 minutes to load and unload. I would suggest that if you only do the carts, to check the lines first. If we had known it was that long of a wait, we wouldn%26#39;t have purchased tickets. The Track is much nicer and quicker.

After the carts, we went souvenir shopping and drove to ';Florida';. We stopped at Bahama Bob%26#39;s for dinner and went back to the beach. This night, we did bring flashlights to look for crabs. The kids got a kick out of that.

We woke up super early Sunday morning and went to the beach for a last time. We packed up and started our trip back home. We stopped at Lambert%26#39;s on the way out and everyone else must

have had the same idea because the parking lot was full and there was a line to put your name on the list. We only waited about 15 minutes. The food was plentiful..the rolls, hot. The kids love this place and it was a great way to end our vacation in Gulf Shores. On the way back

home, we stopped at USS Alabama and did the tour. We were tired, but it was nice.

The weather was beautiful for our entire trip. Saturday was the best day...Sunday morning was overcast and looked like it would be raining later on in the day. We even saw a water spout in the distance when we were on the beach.

P.S. We saw dolphins jumping in the water on Saturday morning and Sunday morning. Original Oyster House was incredible. The food is great. The best time to go is at lunch. We went at around 12p and we walked right in. The best part was that we paid the lunch price rather than dinner prices. We will stay at the same Condo again. This was a great property for the price and in a quiet area with not a lot of traffic.
