I recently lost my wallet locally and by the time I got home to see if it was there, the fraud unit of my MC provider was calling me to tell me it was being used all over town!!
Please have a record of your cards and appropriate phone numbers at home and with you on vacation. And make a police report. dave

Not only that dave, but you need to notify all credit reporting agencies, cancel your checking account, think about other cards that you dont immediately think of - A Blockbuster Card, a library card, maybe a specialty store card you havent used in years but still had in there (appliance store or furniture store card). And you need to carry that police report on you at all times.
