Can anyone suggest good bars etc for two young ladies in their mid twenties looking to enjoy the local night life in gulf shores/orange beach

You%26#39;re bound to get different opinions on this one. From my point of view, VIP Lounge on Canal Road is a pretty good place to dance without having to fend off too many drunks. Some people like Live Bait, but I%26#39;ve always found it to be a meat market for 40-something divorcees. Sometimes they have good music, though. Pink Pony and The Hangout have music on some nights. Unless you are looking to get pawed by a bunch of drunk biker wannabes I would avoid the FloraBama, though it is a landmark of sorts.

I think you might enjoy going to the Wharf as well. Many different places to go and no driving. I love the outdoor patio at Live Bate at the Wharf. Rafters is a fun place that gets lively. Nix has $2.00 martini%26#39;s on Mon/Wed/Fri.

Another fave is Tacky Jacks in Orange Beach, no music but great hangout and view.

All of DD%26#39;s suggestions were great and I also agree about the Floribama. It is a monument to sleazy roadhouses and many people absolutely love it but every time I go there I just get this icky Ewwww feeling if you know what I mean :-)

FloraBama is a place either you love or hate. Personally I like it and think they have some of the best music but it definately does have a strange crowd. Agree with DD on the places mentioned- the Hangout is a nice place with bands and some cool outside bars. One has a firepit/bed/lounge area next to it. Avoid Mudbugs at all costs.

Funny you should mention Mudbugs, my gf and i stopped in there one day when shopping. we went to the beach bazaar next door and toodled over to MB%26#39;s for a cold one. There wasn%26#39;t one soul in there, of course this was early afternoon, except the waitress and she was as friendly as can be. We talked about the weather, where we were from and just idle chit chat. We were 2 ladies in our 50%26#39;s having a good time just hanging out! Don%26#39;t do much night life, so it%26#39;s afternoon life for us, lol. The beer was cold and the gal was very sweet. Must change at night.
