trip report-last part

Here goes,

Wednesday we went to the beach for a while, then went to the zoo for a couple of hours. After the zoo, we ate an early dinner at DeSoto%26#39;s. Why have we not been here before!?!? This was our favorite meal of the whole trip. I had the seafood lovers platter and hubby had the grouper. We were both in heaven. I have to admit I thought we had made a big mistake when we first walked in. The place could use a make over, and the employees, well, I am sure they are nice people if you can get over the piercings and colored hair, but they spent 2-3 minutes arguing over what table to seat us at and who was going to wait on us. But we decided to stay and were so glad we did. We had a great meal and good service. Thursday, we spent the whole day at the beach since the weather was finally enjoyable again. We had dinner at DeSoto%26#39;s (yes, again), and went to the Shrimp Festival for an hour or so. The kids were bored, so we didnt stay long. Friday, our last full day. :( We stayed on the beach all day, and had an early dinner at Doc%26#39;s in OB. Our shrimp was good, but that was it. I think that places could at least serve ';real'; fries not crinkle when you are paying $15 bucks for a meal. JMO. The place was pretty dirty and service was less than mediocre. I picked it based on the good reviews on TA, oh well, you live and learn. After that, we went on the sunset dolphin cruise on the ColdMil fleet. This was the highlight of our trip! The price wasnt bad, and well worth the look on my toddler%26#39;s face when those dolphin started jumping right next to the boat! I am so glad we did that. With a toddler girl and two %26#39;tween boys, those precious ';everyone%26#39;s happy'; moments are sometimes few and far between. :) We went down to the new mall to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream, and then back to the beach for one last time. We packed up Saturday morning, and after spending TWO hours eating breakfast at the Cracker Barrell in Foley, we arrived last night at 8 pm back home in TN. Back to reality tomorrow... :(

Sure am glad you had a great time,we%26#39;re going down Tuesday,and can%26#39;t wait,hope the weather is nice to us,also.Glad to hear about the dolphin cruise,as we were thinking of that,too.I will remember the restaurant reviews,and take those into consideration when deciding where to eat.Thanks so much for the great review,sorry you had to come back home,that%26#39;s always the worst,just start planning for next time.....:)

Sounds like you had a good trip! DeSoto%26#39;s is one of my favorites. Believe it or not, the place just had a makeover in the last couple of years. Food is consistent, though, and the service has always been good. Come back soon!
