We just moved to AL this past year. For the last several years we%26#39;ve been going to Bald Head Island south of Wilmington, NC. Very quiet and remote beautiful beaches (although the water isn%26#39;t as nice as Gulf). Have to take a ferry to the island and no cars. Are there any places similar or at least quiet and secluded on AL Gulf Shores or FL panhandle (Destin area) beaches?

Perdido Key is very quiet and very beautiful.

We stay on Okaloosa Island...about 10 minutes outside of Destin. The crowds are much smaller and there the things that you would need. If you want, you are close enough to drive into Destin and see and do things there as well. We always rent a condo through www.emeraldcoastrentals.com.
Fort Morgan (west of Gulf Shores) is very quiet.
