I%26#39;m thinking of comming down to Gulf Shores or Pensacola Beach over Memorial Day weekend this year. Just starting to collect information on what will be going on that time of year, what the weather and water will be like, good places to stay and other tips. Comming from Cincinnati, OH and plan on hitting up Birmingham for the Rickwood Classic on May 28th. That would put me in Gulf Shores or Pensacola Beach from about May 24th - 27th or so. Thanks in advance!

That link has lots of condo, dining and activity information. Weather by that time is nice and warm and the water is beginning to get warm. Should be fine for getting into the Gulf. If you have more specific questions be sure and post them.
Memorial Day Weekend
Ok, thanks for the site. I%26#39;m taking a look at it. What i am looking for is a decent place to stay, within walking distance of the beach, doesnt have to be right on it, but that would be supreme, that wont cost me an arm and a leg. I understand that may be impossible over the holiday weekend but im up for suggestions for experts. Also, is there any special events or anything that weekend in GS?
Thanks,
G Man
On that site there is a link to lodging. Check out some of the rental companies and search for a condo or house. When you search you should be able to check by location. Put in ';Gulf Oriented'; and that will bring up properties that aren%26#39;t right on the beach, but are across the street or a block or so away from the beach. They are generally cheaper than Gulf Front, but just as nice.
Bear in mind Memorial Day weekend is one of our busiest so you may not get any ';budget'; deals. Look at condos/houses a block or 2 from the beach in either West Beach or Fort Morgan.
Only thing I have on my calendar for that weekend is ZZ Top will be at the Wharf on May 23rd.
If the anyone is into racing, there%26#39;s the Indy 500 and the NASCAR race on Sunday. New sports bar (Indigo Joe%26#39;s) just opened at the Pinnacle (Next to Cotton Farms-2 Arnold Palmer golf courses) shopping center at 59/county rd 4.
Went to Indigo Joe%26#39;s last Saturday night...nice place. Good menu with lots of choices. They should give Rafter%26#39;s some competition. More of a restaurant than a bar, I thought, while Rafter%26#39;s is more of a bar than a restaurant.
