Does anyone know what this hotel is like? Some people give it good reviews and some don%26#39;t. We plan on going in September of %26#39;08 for a week for our 15 year anniversary. We want a decent hotel, but not extravagant. Our main concern is wanting to spend time on the beach.

Near the beach is fine, as long as it%26#39;s not too far away. We aren%26#39;t really worried about the ammenities really. We just want a nice, clean place to stay.
Don%26#39;t know anything about the LaQuinta, but I would think you could get a condo ';on the beach'; for the same rate since prices fall dramatically after Labor Day. Check out www.vrbo.com
The La Quinta is about a mile from the beach and it is a dump. If you don%26#39;t mind being off the beach and it has to be a hotel, check out the Courtyard in Gulf Shores. Clookin was correct that you can find nice condos at the same price or even cheaper.
Their rate is $50 a night for that week. I guess you get what you pay for...haha. Thanks for your help.
Check out some of the condo rental places. You can get 1 BR condos right across the street from the beach for $55 a night in Sept.
