first time visit--condo recommendations/location

trying to plan a trip to the Gulf at the end of March and having trouble deciding between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Have elderly person traveling so need condo close to beach. looking for upscale condo w/ nice pool and beachfront. appears Lighthouse, Crystal Shores West, Seawinds and Phoenix IX may be choices after a LOT of research. does anyone have recomendations? we are not familiar at all with the differences between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach other than what we find on the web. Should we let availablity of condo dictate location? Also is it warm enough to swim in ocean or pool the last week in March? Thanks so much for any info!

Very little difference between GS and OB, IMO, as far as visitors are concerned. Biggest difference is GS politicians are not incarcerated...yet! :)

The places you mentioned are all nice properties right on the beach. Not sure how mobile your elderly visitor is, but shouldn%26#39;t be a problem at any of them. Lighthouse and Seawind both have zero entry pools, and that might be a good thing for elderly folk.

There are a ton of other properties, so check the rental websites and vrbo.com, then decide.

Water will probably be too cold in March, so look for a place with an indoor pool like Lighthouse, most of the Phoenix properties and lots more. You might also look at Bluewater, Shoalwater and Pelican Pointe. All upscale places and I%26#39;m pretty sure they all have indoor pools and jacuzzis.

I prefer Gulf Shores Plantation out on Fort Morgan Road. Private beach and plenty of pools to choose from. Condos aren%26#39;t fancy - but we like them.
