How is the Oleander?

Am going to Gulf Shores in June with family (husband, grown daughter and her children ages 9 and 10). Need fairly inexpensive place, not concerned that it is old if is well kept. Oleander Inn is being considered, anyone know anything about it? Reviews online are hard to assess, go to extremes that it is the best to the worst. Thanks for any help, and enjoy the day! Any other suggestions welcome.

Personally, I would avoid the place like the plague, but they do get business. You can get a nice condo on the beach or across the street from the beach for a similar price. In that same area there are plenty of nice place across the street and only a one minute walk to be on the beach.

thanks for the info, so kind of you. I%26#39;m also looking at the Gulf State Park cabins. If you know of any specific places across the street on the main drag of Gulf Shores, not beachfront but easy walking distance to the beach, that would be great to know also.

Tons of them on East Beach Blvd. Gentle Winds, Grand Beach, Alabama Sands, Sand Dollar, Grand Caribbean, etc. You might want to search the rental companies%26#39; websites like Meyer, Kaiser, Brett Robinson, Young%26#39;s....when it asks for ';Orientation'; select ';Gulf Oriented'; and it will show you condos across the street from the beach.

Gulf State Park cabins are super nice being on the lagoon and about 2 miles from the State Park beach. Bear in mind they may already be booked for June...
