Suggestions on where to eat....

if you are staying in a rental home close to Ft. Morgan. We are renting a house on Boykin Court South, close to Ft Morgan.

Looking for a casual seafood place to eat at nearby. Looking for grilled and fried seafood. Willing to drive, but would like it nearby if possible.

Suggestions on where to eat....

there is tacky jacks in fort morgan,

and just outside of fort morgan into gulf shores is a plain , but good food seafood place called shrimp basket....

Suggestions on where to eat....

Tacky Jack%26#39;s II down at the marina is good.

If you drive back into Gulf Shores there is The Shrimp Basket, Original Oyster House, Big O%26#39;s, Live Bait and one of our absolute favorites Sea %26amp; Suds, just to name a few.

If you go into Gulf Shores, some of our favorites are...

Sea-N-Suds (We don%26#39;t leave without eating here!)

King Neptune%26#39;s (best crab claws)

The Orignial Oyster House

Lulu%26#39;s (best ambiance)

The Crab Trap (farther off in Perdido Key... but so worth it if you love crab!)

Mickey%26#39;s (not the best, but good... and one of the only options open a little later)

Papa Rocco%26#39;s (try a shrimp and pineapple pizza!)

Seems like everyone has been to Sea-N-Suds except me and my family. Is it really that good? It doesn%26#39;t look too impressive from the outside, and I guess that%26#39;s why I%26#39;ve never gone in.

Is it better than Original Oyster House? How are the fried oysters? If they%26#39;re really good, I would like to take my mother there in August. Thanks for any feedback you can give me.

The biggest selling point for Sea-n-Suds is location. They are right on the beach and a lot of people like to eat there and look out at the beach/water. Personally, I think they have too many fried items on the menu. I am not a big fried food fan. Pluses are they are relatively inexpensive, their oysters are freshly chucked, and of course the view.

Bear in mind there%26#39;s usually a huge line- especially on the weekends. Parking can also be a challenge.

If you%26#39;re deciding between this and Original Oyster House I would recommend the latter.

bamanascar is correct in saying that the big draw for Sea n Suds is the location. And, yes, they do subscribe to the Lower Alabama axiom ';If it ain%26#39;t fried, it ain%26#39;t food';. They%26#39;re okay, but there are a lot of better places around.

Ate at Tacky Jack%26#39;s yesterday, not impressed. Had a great meal at DeSoto%26#39;s Kitchen Sunday night and a nice lunch at Sea and Suds Sunday!

It%26#39;s about as far as you can get from Fort Morgan - but down Canal Road at what was the old Bear Point Marina (it%26#39;s been under several managements in the past few years that were really bad) they%26#39;ve renamed and revamped the place and it%26#39;s called Flippers. We ate there this past week and it was really, really good. We really hesitated and doubted our sanity in eating there because as Jolly Rogers and Gigglin Grouper it was really bad service and bad food. We decided to give it a try under the new management and out of the four of us we all got a different entree and they were all really good. It is a marina on the bay so the views were awesome. There was a live band playing the night we were there. The seafood nachos that they offer as an appetizer were awesome. It is huge. I could not believe the amount of seafood and the size of that platter. They night we were there they gave us complimentary fried okra to begin as an appetizer and we ordered the crawfish tails. They were just spicy enough to be good and the sauce was great. We got the seafood nachos (I couldn%26#39;t believe how large that order was), blackened shrimp, oysters, and they had $3.00 margaritas. We were really pleased since it%26#39;s so close to our house. We used to love to go there and was disappointed when several others took over, but this time Flippers is a winner.

More info about Flippers, please? Price ranges, menu items, etc? Sounds like it is nice now.
