Is the Naval museum worth it even if Blue Angels not there?

I asked this question on another post and then decided I would get more responses if I posted seperately. We are coming down in October, but were dissapointed to find out that the Blue Angels will not be there during this time. Is it still worth the time and drive from GS to go? Our boys will be 10 and 12 and our little girl will be 2. Will there be enough to interest the boys? If so, do you have a favorite place to eat in Pensacola? (besides the Museum, BamaNascar :).

It is absolutely worth it! Only a very small part of the museum is about the BA. They are just a recruiting tool. Naval aviation is about a lot. Your boys will learn a lot and have a great time, too.

McGuire%26#39;s is a really fun place in P%26#39;cola. Great food and kids love the place. They have a website.

ditto

Just go- the kids will love it!

thanks, guys!

The muesumn is REALLY great. There is a lot of thing for them to see and touch. There are TWO imax films that show all through the day. Every time I have been there, I have seen MANY young kids. Of course you will like it also. If you check with the front desk when you get there, they have the times of the films, so you can plan your time better if you want to see one or both. Also they have a free bus tour of the flight line, where they have quiet a few planes on display they drive by and explain what you see, I liked it. Most of the other parts of the base, since 911, is off limits. You used to be able to drive right up to the fence and see the hanger,150 feet away, that they house/repaired the BAs, but not any more, too bad. For eating lunch, about ten minutes away, downtown, I recommend joe patties seafood diner. Right next door to, of course, Joe Patties Seafood. Ask ANYBODY where they are located and enjoy.

The museum is great and I have to agree McGuires is really a fun place, take dollar bills--you%26#39;ll see why!

I looked at McGuires website. I understand that they are a pub, but do they have stuff for picky eaters as well? I didnt see a lot on the menu that my bunch will go for, we dont eat prime rib. What about Peg Leg Pete%26#39;s? Is it close to the naval base? Is it good?
