Restaurant or pizza help

We are stopping for just an overnight at the Drury Inn SW on State Farm Pkwy. We will have been driving over 9 hours so we won%26#39;t want anything fancy, we may just order pizza. Are there any good, casual, kid ok, non chain restaurants close-by? Any barbeque suggestions? Any pizza suggestions?

Thanks

Restaurant or pizza help

there is Jim Davenport%26#39;s which is GREAT but it%26#39;s about 15 minutes- down Lakeshore Blvd to Mt Brook Village- not sure about near the hotel- there%26#39;s a Dave%26#39;s pizza in Homewood also- but it%26#39;s 15 minutes away also- sorry but you are staying away from non pizza chains-

In that general area there is also a Chili%26#39;s, O%26#39;Charley%26#39;s, Landry%26#39;s Seafood, Costa%26#39;s BBQ, Hooters, and several fast food places.

There are alot of family-friendly restaurants in that area. Loco%26#39;s is right down the street and has a wide variety of food... and they will deliver to the hotels in that area!

You will be about a mile from new york pizza and a little further from Daves, both are pretty good better than some chains pizza places but nothing like you find around illinois

thanks guys,

we ended up eating at Landry%26#39;s that was in walking distance of the Drury. We were all tired from driving, and buzzing from the free drinks that the Drury offered.;) At Landry%26#39;s everyone enjoyed their dinner. I can recommend the shrimp and crab fondue. It had great flavor.

The Drury was good in all respects but one: night time noise. We could hear doors closing and people talking until 3 am. It was as if our door wasn%26#39;t shut at all, normal noise seemed very loud. Because of this, we won%26#39;t ever stay there again.
