Trip Report from 6/21 to 6/28

Just finished up our week at the Tidewater.

We booked through VRBO for the first time and saved a few hundred dollars. Probably not the nicest unit in the complex, but was fine for our needs. The only thing we didn%26#39;t like about the Tidewater is that the walk to the beach is rather long. First the walkway, then the beach itself to get to the water. We left chairs and umbrella on the beach, but the other stuff with a 2 year old made this a difficult trip. They do have an indoor pool which is great for cool evenings.

As mentioned in other posts, the jelly fish were fairly bad about 1/2 the days. We didn%26#39;t go to deep into the water and spent most of the time in the sand and at the pool.

The weather was great. I think it only rained once during day light hours. The temp never seemed too hot, and actually felt cool some evenings.

We ate out three meals, actually the first was delivered from Chicago Pizza. Not bad, but to me Chicago pizza is deep dish. This kind of had a minimal amount of sauce and garlic butter on the pizza. Not bad, but not what I was expecting.

Ate at Lu Lu%26#39;s. Arrived at 5 pm on Tues with a party of 12 and had a 2 hour wait. The kids had fun playing and the bar was right there, so the time flew by. I ordered the Cheeseburger and was very disappointed. I kid you not when I think it was nothing more than a Holten frozen patty.(not bad for a BBQ with buddies, but not for $10) I have eaten there about 6 times overs the years and never had the cheeseburger, and never will again.

Went to The Hangout on Thursday and had a great time with just our family of 4. We arrived at 4:30 to beat the rush. Service was intermittent, but the food was better than what I expected. Our kids played for over an hour after dinner and didn%26#39;t want to leave.

Went to the Track twice and had fun both times.

We drove down to Ft Morgan for the first time in our 7 trips to OB/GS. We drove through Martinique. Although it was nice, we don%26#39;t like the idea of not being on the beach. The condo%26#39;s seemed rather pricey compared to the houses. We also looked at the Beach Club, and may stay there next summer.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. The Beach Club is, indeed, a nice place. Pretty good for kids, too, with the kiddie pools. I like the beach service out there and the condos are all pretty nice. Come back soon!
