We are headed to Dauphin Island in a couple of weeks. I understand that the DI July 4th fireworks are on July 5 and unfortunately, some of our party will be leaving earlier that day.
For those of you have been there before on July 4th, can you recommend July 4th fireworks displays somewhere else in the area? Will there be random fireworks over the bay that evening? Will people be shooting them off from the beach on DI?
Thanks for you help -
July 4th festivities on/near Dauphin IslandGreetings ag9898,
If you are looking for a laid back old time beach vacation you have forund the right spot. These are all the reasons I have moved to Dauphin Island.
The fireworks on the island had to be moved to the 5th. Hey it is ';Island Time';, so that is part of the charm.
Seriously, there will be fireworks over Mobile Bay, Fairhope, Biloxi, etc that can be seen from the island. Look for a viewing spot on the West End, the fort or marina area for the best views on the 4th.
Fireworks on the island are illegal and they do take it seriously due to the fire danger. Although, you will see folks breaking this law be careful as there were citations last year.
On the 5th the show will launch near the pier and can be seen clearly from the West End, east End beaches and the Golf course restaurants.
Enjoy!
