planning trip with 5 yr old

Will the Space Center keep a five year old entertained? and do they have train rides out of the Depot?

From my own personal experience The early Works Museum and Sci-Quest are more age appropriate for a 5 year old than the Space Center. That doesn%26#39;t mean there is nothing at the Space Center for children of that age but they will rush through a large part of it. No train rides at the Huntsville Depot except for an occasional special event. If you want to ride a train check out the North Alabama Railroad Museum on Chase Rd just a short drive east of town. http://www.northalabamarailroadmuseum.com/

My children have enjoyed the Space and Rocket Center everytime they%26#39;ve been over the past 4-5 years. It now boasts new exhibits and improvements. They usually have pretty good IMAX movies as well. As the other poster stated, other good places to visit are:

Sci-quest

Early Works

If you have joined your local science museum as a member, you can visit Sci-quest and the Space and Rocket Center for FREE!!! They are all on the ASTC chain of museums. Here%26#39;s more info...

There are nearly 300 ASTC museums in the country!

Have fun!
