Road trip assistance needed please :)

My family (dh, and 2 boys ages 6 %26amp; 3) and I are embarking on a tour of the southern and eastern US this July. One leg of our trip will be from Baton Rouge to Mobile.

Can anyone tell me if there are any don%26#39;t miss spots along the way.

Thanks in advance

Road trip assistance needed please :)

Not sure if you would call these ';Must See'; but after passing New Orleans area, there are a couple of Air Boats ride into the swamp, where you can/may see alligators. When you get to Mississippi, There is the John C Stennis rocket test/space center. Don%26#39;t know if the six year old is into that sort of thing. I found it interesting though. When you get to Mobile and through the tunnel, you will see on the RIGHT, the Battleship USS Alabama, Subermrine USS Drum and a host of other military hardware. Pretty cool place to spend a few hours, if your into that also. In Fla, about 50-70 miles east of pensacola, you will see a sign for ';VORTEX SPRINGS';. This is close to DeFuniack (spelling ?) Springs. This will be NORTH of I-10 about 10-12 miles, go north on the road you get off on, will turn on to a dirt road for about 1/2 mile until you see the pay gate. Here you will find a swimming/diving/camp/picnic area and some of the coooldest water in the panhandle of Fla. We have been there with the kids when they were learning to scuba. There are some Monster size fish (carp, frindly fish). This place is fed by spring water and is very clear/cold. Many people though do swim in it. From there on until ocala, there isn%26#39;t much except Silver Springs, which is quite nice. Glass bottom boat, Aligators, zoo, monkeys in the wild plus other stuff. Hope you find any of this helpful, and have a great trip. jim
