Seeking reasonable condo for 8 night stay late Aug 2 adults

My fiance and I are getting married in June, and having our %26#39;honeymoon%26#39; in late August. We%26#39;re seeking a %26#39;nice place with a pool%26#39; in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach. We%26#39;re not fancy folks, and it is just us. We would like to keep the price to 100 a night or lower.

Has anyone any ideas?

Thank you,

Fyre

Should not have a problem except maybe Labor Day weekend. Check out www.vrbo.com Hundreds of listings. Most of them do not include departure cleaning or tax.

Wait until after Labor Day and the prices will be lower yet.

That price point is fairly easy to meet in late August/Early Sept. If being Gulf Front isn%26#39;t an issue I would look at one of the places off the beach, but within a three or four minute walk. Three Cs and Compass Point both have nice pool areas.

Most of them do not include departure cleaning or tax. FYI - this is wrong MOst include cleaning and tax. Also watch VRBO there are alot of rental agencys on there.

We have actually applied for a place, and are waiting to hear back. Has anyone used VRBO before? Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back and how one gets the keys to the place?

Thank you!

Fyre

Many owners have lockboxes on their unit, some will mail the keys, others may have you pick them up at a rental company. Not sure what you mean by ';applied'; for a place, but when someone contacts us via email or phone, we email our Rental Agreement to them immediately.

The last few times we rented through VRBO the owners just sent us a code for the lockbox. We received the code 1-2 weeks before going.

I emailed the owner on VRBO 2 times so far, but have not recieved a resonse, yet. I emailed them yesterday morning and then again this morning. So far we haven%26#39;t heard anything.

Thanks,

Fyre

I would go on to another rental. They may be out of town without internet access, but you are not obligated to them if they have not responded. Nor are you obligated until you have signed a Rental Agreement, returned it with your deposit.

Hey,

I was just telling another poster we always stay with Sunset Properties out in Ft. Morgan. They are on the beach side of the HWY and it%26#39;s really quiet and secluded down there, which we like. I know they have lots of honeymooners and even hold weddings there, since it%26#39;s so private. The longer you stay the cheaper per night the prices are. If you stay just 2 or 3 nights it%26#39;s about $150 a night, but if you stay 5 - 7 nights it comes down to about $100 or less a night depending upon the time of the year. Call and let them know your tyring to find a honeymoon special, and you should get better rates VS. booking online. I have also told them my budget before and they found a place for me, so I would definitely try that! Don%26#39;t have their number in front of me, but their website is sunsetproperties.com

Personally I don%26#39;t like VRBO because the two times I booked through and owner I had issues (key wouldn%26#39;t work in the door - THE CONDO WAS NOT CLEAN), and the owner couldn%26#39;t fix the problem immediately. When I use a rental agency they are always there within the hour.
