Well, just got in last night (live in Illinois) after spending a week in Orange Beach. Condo was nice (usually do Perdido Beach Resort but since we have moved to IL from MS did a week at a condo). We ate at Lulu%26#39;s one night. The wait was 1 3/4 hours but there is a bar in back with a snack bar and got chips, salso and queso for teens. The food was very good, service was excellent. The best crab claws we have had in a long time. Ate twice at Crab Trap, heard about it here, husband had caesar salad with tuna, best he%26#39;s had. He loved it so much we went back again. I had tuna this time and it was very good. Teens had chicken finger basket (girls who hate fish) grouper sandwich and shrimp basket all good. Also made a stop at Flora Bama early in night, got crawfish - good - red royals were horrible! Loved them last time but stupid me didn%26#39;t know there was a ';season'; for them so they were not anywhere near as good as last time, they were inedible!!
The water was beautiful, although it was FULL OF JELLYFISH ALL WEEK!! I did not swim once the whole week, ugh, too afraid of getting stung and being allergic. Teen boys were stung and shrugged it off. The girls swam one day when there were harldy any in the water. I know from going to OB a lot to get a place with a nice pool in case there is something in the water. Now, if people would just stop putting their towels on the chairs for the whole day and never show up once to use them!!! I would be happy.
Still, I love the beach, the water was warm and the sun was hot. The people were all very friendly and had a great time!
Just got back last night, there for a week at Tradewinds. Thanks for the heads up on the oysters, I wouldn%26#39;t have known that either. We%26#39;re staying at the Tradewinds in a couple of weeks and I%26#39;ve never stayed there before. How was your expierence with the condo?
Just got back last night, there for a week at Tradewinds.Try going to lu lu%26#39;s between 2.00 and 5:00 pm..
We walked righ tin, sat in a great seat on the edge of the building next to the canal..
I really like Tradewinds condos. The balconies hang right over the pool and beach and the pool is a nice size. Pretty centrally located for both OB and GS restaurants, too.
kinda weird, whenever I am around their is enough sea breeze to blow the towels off the pool chairs.
