What is the beach/water like in GS? Is it seeweedy?

What is the water like in GS? We have never been there before, usually opting for Siesta Key or that area. With the price of gas and the desire to not be in the car with a middle schooler for 15 hours (lol), we are thinking of trying out GS/OB area. Any suggestions for a nice condo beachfront?

It depends on the weather/time of year--if there are storms out there, you might get seaweed.

We go every year (May/ June sometimes Sept) and haven%26#39;t had any real problems. So days the water is so clear it is amazing.

GS is lowkey. The beaches are beautiful, not so overcrowded, you have the (tacky) gift shops, there is also a new upscale shopping area, The Wharf.

We were in GS for the first time the first week in May. Water was absolutely gorgeous! After much, much searching and reserving a terrible condo on Ft. Morgan, we found the Gulf Shore Surf and Raquet Club condos, which were wonderful. Two very nice owners helped us with a perfect condo available. From our front patio was an ocean view (just across small 2 lane road) and at the back entrance was a beautiful lagoon and beautiful tropical pool setting.
