We are planning to go to city stages. We are first timers to this any tip or suggestions would be great!!

it is a huge weekend so get a room now!! preferably close to downtown or southside-

1) Tutwiler

2) Redmont

3) Stay away from the Sheraton

4) Courtyard UAB

5) Hotel Highland at Five Points South....this would be my first choice. Request a room on the backside of the hotel away from 20th street. This hotel is in a busy entertainment district crammed with bars and restaurants. Birmingham has no closing law (except 3 am - Noon on Sunday mornings). Therefore there is a lot of activity outside this hotel at 3-4 AM.

I would book whatever hotel you choose quickly.
