One day in Birmingham

Big baseball fan and i plan on comming down to Birmingham for the Rickwood Classic this year, which is May 28th. Will have part of that day and possibly another day in Birmingham. How could my time be best used? Thanks in advance,

One day in Birmingham

Civil Rights Museum, Vulcan Park, Zoo, Botanical Gardens if you like to shop, there%26#39;s always the Galleria or the Summit south of Town.

One day in Birmingham

go into the Villages of Mt Brook- nice shopping- zoo and Gardens very close-

Check out

www.touralabama.org

- it%26#39;s the official site of the Alabama Bureua of Travel and Tourism. I live in Alabama and check it often for local and day-trip events.

If you play golf, you might want to check out Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail - Oxmoor Valley. It%26#39;s received very excellent reviews from Golf Digest. The short course is great (elevation changes, gas powered carts) and would probably fit into your schedule.

Vulcan Park - atop Red Mountain - is home to the world%26#39;s largest cast iron statue. Great views of the city + from the viewing platform and there%26#39;s also a museum.

You should definately see the Civil Rights Museum and Vulcan.

A trip to the Botanical Gardens can also be very peaceful and a nice afternoon.

An afternoon at Oak Mountain State Park can also be spent hiking, fishing, swimming, or picnicing.

Will you have kids with you? If so, I recommend the Birmingham Zoo and The McWane Center.

Have a great trip!
