Plantation Dunes at Gulf Shores Plantation

We are headed down this weekend and have found a super deal at this 9 story bldg. Has anyone stayed there recently? What shape is it in?

Plantation Dunes at Gulf Shores Plantation

You may be referring to Plantation Palms. Nice property. Kinda high density for Fort Morgan, but most of the units are in good shape. I think they have a Starbucks out there now. Little walk to the beach, depending on which unit you are in, but nothing strenuous.

Plantation Dunes at Gulf Shores Plantation

Plantation Palms and Plantation Dunes are two different buildings in the Gulf Shores Plantation complex. We have stayed at Gulf Shores Plantation four times, twice in the Dunes, and most recently at the Dunes a year ago in April. Each unit is different, decorated by their individual owners, so some are probably nicer than others. We rented the first time through the complex management company and last year through vrbo.com. I personally like Dunes, and we liked both units we stayed in--very nicely decorated and equipped. We have also stayed in some Phoenix properties in Gulf Shores, so I would say that these are somewhat smaller, especially the second bedroom if you%26#39;re renting a two bedroom unit. Both times we stayed on the west side of the building 4th floor in about the middle. I loved sitting on the balcony there. Nice view of a large courtyard as well as the beach. I think the view is nicer on the west side, if you have a choice, and the closer to the beach end of the building the better. If you%26#39;re renting through the complex management company, I think they still have the units rated as far as their individual amentities. I have started renting through vrbo, since then you can see pictures of the condos you%26#39;re considering up front. I would stay at Dunes again.

I%26#39;ll admit I%26#39;m at a loss, here. I guess they have renamed one of the two wings of Plantation Palms and now call it Plantation Dunes. I can%26#39;t find it listed anywhere except vrbo, but that%26#39;s cool. Either way, GS Plantation is a nice area and I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll enjoy it.

Plantation Dunes is the high rise, 9 story building in the Gulf Shores Plantation Complex. It%26#39;s almost 25 years old, but is in good shape. (Last year, the carpet and paint in its hallways was redone.) On the ground floor is the cafe that sells Starbucks products.

Plantation Palms is the long low-rise (about 4 stories) building to the east of Plantation Palms. They are two separate buildings. Plntation Palms is the newest building in the Gulf Shores Plantation complex and was built about 10 years ago. All of its units face the ocean.

Thanks. I was really confused about that.

Thanks so much for the help. How about Plantation East? Have found a unit on VRBO that looks decorated very nicely but think it is quite a bit farther from the beach.

Sorry, I got my directions wrong. Plantation Palms is to the west (not east) of Plantation Dunes.

Three of the Plantation East builds are vertical to the ocean, meaning that some units are closer to the ocean and have a better view than others. The fourth Plantation East building is horizontal to the ocean and the upper floors should have a good view, but the entire building is rather far from the ocean.

At Plantation East the gulf view rooms are only 1 bedroom units. If you book on the south side with the gulf view you are extremely close to the pool as well as the beach boardwalk. It%26#39;s as close to the beach as you can get at The Plantation! The 2 bedroom units also have a small gulf view but some are just as close to the pools and boardwalks as the 1 bedrooms.

That sounds like the building my husband and I stayed in for his birthday in March. Since it was just the two of us we got a sun suite and it was really nice.
