THinking of a trip to Gulf Shores -- can anyone recommend a place to stay that is on the beach -- looking for a very nice place and to stay on the lower floors beachfront. Not traveling with children so doesn%26#39;t have to be family friendly. Any advise would be appreciated -- Gulf Shores or Orange Beach? Which area is closest to nice and good restaurants?
Where to stay
Both areas are very close together. There are SO many choices in GS and OB, and Fort Morgan, too. The chamber of commerce%26#39;s Web site at www.gulfshores.com is very helpful. Lots of agencies have links where you can see photos of the actual condos. You can get a hotel room, but condos rule in Gulf Shores!
We really enjoyed Summer House, Crystal Shores, and Bluewater. I will say the pool at Crystal Shores was VERY small, and filled with small children. Summer House%26#39;s pool is bigger, but still lots of kids. Bluewater had a nice-sized pool.
Gulf Shores is very much a family resort area, so you will find children everywhere.
Where to stay
DH and I are staying here in a couple of weeks. It%26#39;s a condo owned by DH%26#39;s aunt and uncle. Even though we have not been before, I%26#39;m sure it is a nice place and resonably priced.
