Does anyone have any experience staying at the Sugar Beach condos in Orange Beach?? We found them on the internet and are thinking about booking there. Thanks.
Sugar Beach Condos
We stayed there several years ago and I thought it was a good value for the money. We were not in a gulf front condo, but it did have a view of one of the pools. They had several pools and a snack stand.
Sugar Beach Condos
We stayed there in April this year and really enjoyed ourselves. It is really quiet, great for families. They were doing some repairs then, and, compared to everything else locally, didn%26#39;t receive as much damage from Ivan. That must mean they are built really solid. We plan on returning in October and renting from the same people we rented from before(VERY affordable) and nice to boot!
Have not booked our condo yet. Can anyone tell me a specific condo # or name of who I can call?? Personal references are the best. THanks for the input from your stay.
I went through a family here in Alabama who own quite a few condos at Sugar Beach. They are really nice, and caring people. Ms. Martha (reservation taker) lives in Tuscaloosa, and her brother lives in Gulf Shores. They have their own website:

In it they list all of the information you will need, but if you do have any questions, there is a phone number listed for Ms.Martha (last name is Shuttlesworth). They even give you the option of cleaning the condo yourself if you need to save money. The condo we stayed in was really great, decorated really nice, and we had a lot of fun. Also, Sugar Beach is directly on the beach, no crossing streets or anything. Our family plans on returning in October for fall break,and plan to make our stay longer. Their off-season prices are GREAT!!! I fully recommend them.
We owned a condo at Sugar Beach (#353) for 3 years. It is an older complex, but is a pretty good value for the price. The beach area is large and not as crowded as some newer complexes that have more people in less space. There were 3 pools prior to Ivan- 2 on the beach and 1 on the interior of the complex. We liked our unit because it was on the side with a small view of the ocean. Here%26#39;s a website that might let you know how far along the complex is after Ivan.

I know Brett Robinson is the rental agent for #353 now. When we sold the unit in 2003, it was in great shape with new ceramic tile and nice furnishings. There are pictures of that unit on the website. It has 1 bedroom and 2 baths. I also have the web address for a couple who rent out their unit themselves:

Thank you so much for the info. I will make a note to call these nice owners about a place. Nice to know the beach is uncrowded in that area. I can really appreciate that.
