Hotel near the Barons

Hi Everyone!

We are considering stopping for a night in Birmingham this summer. Can anyone suggest a clean, reasonably priced hotel near where the Barons play baseball?? Having never been to Birmingham before, I%26#39;m pretty clueless about the location of anything, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Also what are a couple of other tourist type things that you guys would suggest we see??

the Regions Park is off of highway 150 which if off I-459 - which should have some hotels but I am not sure which ones-or you could get to 280 and stay at the Hampton Inn- and then you%26#39;d be closer to town where the The zoo, Vulcan, and Botanical Gardens are located- the McWane center is gret if you have kids

There%26#39;s all kinds of hotels up HWY 150 toward HWY 31 in Hoover (city where the Barons play).

There%26#39;s a Hyatt Place on 150, a Hampton but check online not sure if it%26#39;s open yet. If you turn right off 150 on to HWY 31 there%26#39;s a Courtyard.

There%26#39;s always the Winfrey at the Galleria but it will be a bit pricey.

the wynfrey is not very nice either - hope you enjoy your trip.

My favorite place to stay is the Comfort Inn at the Colonnade which is off of U.S. Hwy 280 and Interstate 459. A little pricier but very nice is the Marriott off of 280. The Barons play at the Hoover Met and are located not far from the Galleria Mall. Must see with kids are McWane Science Center and the Birmingham Zoo. McWane is in Downtown Birmingham and the Zoo is in the Mountain Brook area near the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
